Creating Audio Tours in Amego

Audio Tours are an engaging way for attendees to explore and learn at their own pace. They allow participants to self-serve information on a specific track, reducing overwhelm while offering a more personalized experience.

This format works especially well for showcasing “better together” stories or spotlighting a particular theme or track in a memorable, accessible way.

Step 1: Create a New Audio Tour Session

  • In the Amego CMS, navigate to Sessions and click New Session.
  • Set the Session Type to Audio Tour.
  • Add a Tour Title, Description, and Tour Label to help attendees identify the experience.
  • Click Create Content to continue.

Step 2: Add Audio Tracks

Each stop on the tour is added as a unique audio track.

  • Navigate to the Audio Tracks tab at the top.
  • Click New Audio Track and complete the following fields for each stop:

Track Name – Label each stop clearly (e.g., “Welcome Message” or “Innovation Station”).

Audio File – Upload an MP3 or MPEG file.

Transcript Text – Include the text version of the narration for accessibility.

Room – (Optional) Add the physical location or point of interest.

Code – (Optional) Use this for scavenger hunts or gamified experiences.

  • Repeat for each stop on the tour.

Step 3: Build the Attendee Experience

Create a dedicated space for your Audio Tours on the app’s home screen.

  • Go to Home Screens in the CMS.
  • Create a Custom Secondary Home Screen — name it something like Audio Tours.
  • Add Highlights to this screen that link directly to your new Audio Tour session.
  • From your Primary Home Screen, add a highlight that links to this new Audio Tours screen for easy navigation.

Additional Notes

  • Enrollment Tracking: Begins when an attendee clicks on the tour. Attendance is not tracked, as participation is self-paced.
  • Data Exports: Admins can export enrollment data directly from the session.
  • Timing: Set up Audio Tours at least two weeks before the live event to allow time for final testing and adjustments.

✅ Best Practices

  • Keep audio clips short (1–3 minutes) to maintain engagement.
  • Use consistent naming for tracks to help attendees follow along easily.
  • Include a short intro track to set the tone and explain the tour format.
