Amego offers 3 different in-app notification options that all show on the home screen only.

In-App Notifications are FYI-style alerts designed to ensure attendees see important messages. These notifications appear as soon as the attendee opens the app and must be manually dismissed before they can continue using it.

Key Characteristics:

  • No Call-to-Action (CTA) or Links – Functions like a digital billboard to display critical information.
  • Not Stored in the Notification Center – Unlike push notifications, these messages do not appear in the app’s notification screen.
  • Persistent Until Dismissed – They do not expire, meaning attendees will see them until they actively close them.

Best Practices:
To avoid overwhelming attendees, we recommend limiting In-App Notifications to 1-2 per event. Overuse can create a frustrating user experience, especially if multiple messages appear when reopening the app.

Recommended Specs:

Title is 35 character limit.

Body Copy is 100 characters limit.

Format:

There are 4 placement options:

  • Top
  • Bottom
  • Full Screen
  • Full Screen Image

1 & 2 - Top or Bottom: a headline, 3 rows of text. This example is 'bottom'. 'Top' would show in the top one-third of the screen, in the same format.

Be careful to use very little text in this option.

3 - Full Screen: your mobile logo, headline, and more text than the option above, but be careful not to add so much that it won't fit in the modal.

4 - Full Screen Image: an image, 1080x1920, that shows your message. All of the text must be contained in the image.

Target Type

There are 2 Target Type options:

  • All
  • Attendee Type or Tag

All: This in-app notification will go to all Attendees

Attendee Type or Tag: When you select “attendee type or tag" you'll see "Audience (Attendee types or tags)" appear below the Image portion. Select one or more segments from the list to build your send-to list.

Note: You can define attendee types by adding tags in Settings > Attendees or directly under the Attendees section. For further instructions on this please click here.

Send Type

There are 3 options for send type:

  • Send now
  • Schedule
  • Draft

  • Send Now: Sends to your audience as soon as you hit send.
  • Scheduled: Schedules an in-app notification to your desired time. Once scheduled, no changes can be made; you will need to delete and start over.
  • Draft: Save an in-app notification as "Draft" if you plan to make changes to the scheduled time, subject, or body of the notification. Once finalized, select "Send Now" or "Scheduled."
