Audience
How it Works
Audience Segmentation lets you restrict a group to specific attendee types or tags. Instead of showing content to everyone, you can narrow it down to the attendees it's actually meant for, using the Audience (attendee types or tags) selector to choose which group applies. Audience Groups include: All, Attendee Type or Tag, Session Attendees.
Choosing “All” allows all attendees to see a specific feed item. This function is valuable for general, overall feed items that you want all attendees to know about.
Choosing “Attendee Type or Tag” allows certain attendees to see a specific feed item. You can choose attendees from specific groups, regions, companies, and more.
Choosing “Session Attendees” allows you to send a feed item to attendees of specific sessions. This function is valuable for session-specific content you wish to send your attendees.
Why it Matters
For Attendees: Not every feed item is meant for every attendee, and a feed that treats it that way gets tuned out fast. The sponsor-only briefing, the VIP dinner reminder, the beginner-track tip when someone's three years into the advanced track — none of that belongs in every feed. Audience targeting means what shows up is actually meant for the person seeing it.
Why it matters to organizers. "All" is the right call for plenty of feed items — a keynote reminder, a Wi-Fi password, the welcome message. But your event isn't one audience, it's several: sponsors, VIPs, first-time attendees, people in a specific session. Audience Segmentation lets you speak to each of them differently from the same app, so the badge-pickup reminder reaches the VIPs who need it and nobody else, and the room-change alert only hits the people actually sitting in that session. That's what keeps a feed useful instead of noisy — and it's the difference between one generic broadcast and a program that feels built for each attendee.
