How the Attendee Flow Works
Amego works with Wicket so attendees can check in with their face instead of a badge. Attendees who opt in submit a photo in the app, then walk through the Express lanes onsite. Everyone else checks in with their QR badge as usual.
This article walks through what attendees see in the app, and the setup details organizers need to know.
When Attendees See the Flow
The Wicket flow appears when an attendee opens the app and hasn't checked in yet. Once they're checked in, they don't see it again.
What Attendees See
1. Already submitted a photo
If the attendee already submitted a photo, for example during registration, they see a "You opted in" message telling them to use the Express lanes. Nothing else is needed.
2. No photo yet: the opt-in question
Everyone else is asked whether they'd like to opt in to photo check-in. They have three choices:
- Yes: The app opts them in and opens Wicket's camera so they can take their photo. They're then checked in and can use the Express lanes. If they cancel the camera partway through, they get their QR badge instead.
- No: They get their QR badge and use the standard registration line.
- X (close): The app asks if they're sure they want to opt out.
- Yes, opt out: They get their QR badge and won't be asked again.
- No, don't opt out: The flow closes and they can use the rest of the app. They'll be asked again the next time they open the app.
Tip: The X option is for attendees who aren't onsite yet, for example someone checking shuttle tracking on the way to the venue. They can close the flow, use the app and come back to it later.
Setup Requirements
- Go to Settings > Event
- Set the Event Begins and Event Ends time and use those for the Wicket flow.
- Use a check-in QR code. Wicket facial recognition check-in uses the Amego check-in QR code workflow, but instead of showing a QR code, we show the wicket flow using your specified time settings in settings.
General Notes
- Registration answers aren't carried over. If your registration form asked attendees whether they want photo check-in, the app doesn't use that answer. Every attendee without a submitted photo is asked in the app, including people who said No during registration.
- QR badges always work. Any attendee who says No, opts out or cancels the camera checks in with their QR badge as usual.
