Customizing the Home Screen Background Image

Make your event app stand out with a branded home screen. The Background Image feature allows you to personalize the home screen by uploading a custom image directly in the CMS. This is a great way to match your event's visual identity and create a more engaging experience for attendees.

How to Add a Home Screen Background Image in the CMS

Follow these steps to upload a background image:

  • Go to Screens > Screens > Home > Select Content tab.
  • Click on + New Screen Item.
  • From the drop down select "Background Image."

Name your Background Image and drop your image in the drag-and-drop upload box in the Home Screen Background section.

Click on "Add Background Image" to save your changes.

Image Specifications

To ensure the best display on all screen sizes, use the following image specs:

  • Recommended Dimensions: 1280px (width) × 800px (height). The height can be increased depending on the amount of components you have on the Home screen.
  • File Type: JPG, PNG or WEBP
  • Avoid using dark images behind dark text or light images behind light text. Aim for balanced contrast so that buttons and text remain clear and legible.

Tips for a Great Background

  • Use high-resolution imagery.
  • Keep the design simple — avoid busy patterns that distract from content.
  • Make sure text overlays (widgets, tiles, etc.) are still legible.
  • Test on a device before finalizing.
